What to Prepare Before You Meet an Architect

By Ali Bokhari, architect in DHA Lahore · 2026-10-24

A first meeting goes much further when you arrive prepared. You do not need a finished brief, just the following.

Your plot or building details

Bring the plot number, location, size and any documents you have such as the plot file or an existing plan. If you are still deciding which plot to buy, say so: an architect can review it with you.

A list of needs

Rooms, number of people, special requirements, and what matters most: space, light, privacy, parking, outdoor living.

Images you like and dislike

Photos of houses, interiors and details you respond to help communicate style faster than words. Include things you dislike too.

Your timeline

When would you like to start and when would you like to move in or open? Realistic timing allows the architect to propose the right approach.

Questions to ask

  • Who will lead my project?
  • What is included in the scope?
  • How do you handle approvals and construction?
  • How will we communicate during the project?

Ready? Book a meeting or send us your brief. Learn about our design process.

Two ways to begin.

Tell us about your project in a few steps, or sit down with the architect directly.
